JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
In collaboration with the Principal Engineer, the Junior Engineer/E.I.T. will primarily be responsible for ensuring project design drawings are produced efficiently and in a timely manner to meet project deadlines. The Junior Engineer/E.I.T. will also have the opportunity to conduct site visits and prepare field reports to ensure the safety of temporary structures.
Depending on the individual’s skills and career aspirations, the Junior Engineer/E.I.T. may have the opportunity to be involved in design calculations and structural design, under the supervision of the Principal Engineer.
As such, the Junior Engineer will be involved in all aspects of DMA’s project pipeline, from design through to construction.
This position is excellent for an individual who is looking to broaden their experience and skills in residential construction. This individual must be willing to learn beyond their current skillset.
POSITION TYPE: Full time (a 3 months probationary period will apply)
LOCATION: In office (work from home arrangements can be discussed). Travel to various project work sites within the Lower Mainland will be required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
· Registered with EGBC as a P.Eng. or E.I.T
· 2-3 years experience in residential construction or building envelope
· Previous experience creating AutoCAD drawings (there will be a practical assignment as part of the interview process)
· Experience creating modular blocks and tool pallets would be an asset
· Class 5 driver’s license mandatory
JOB DUTIES:
· Set up CAD drawings with generic blocks and standards
· Prepare project drawings for temporary structures & residential construction projects
· Conduct project site visits and prepare field reports (Lower Mainland only)
· In collaboration with the Principal Engineer, contribute to higher complexity residential renovations projects
· Other job duties, as they may arise
